UC Irvine neurosurgery resident Dr. Amandip Gill received the Sterling Staph Award for Excellence in Teaching from the UC Irvine School of Medicine's graduating class of 2011.
Gill, a PGY 2 resident in the UC Irvine Department of Neurological Surgery's residency training program, accepted the award at the inaugural Graduate Eve Honors Dinner on June 3, 2011.
The award was given to two residents by the class of 2011. Third- and fourth-year medical school students are asked to nominate residents who should be recognized for excellence in teaching. The Associated Medical Students Council receives the nominations and makes the final decision on the award recipients.
