Clinical Immersion Program in Neurovascular Practice

Join us at UCI Health Clinical Immersion Program in Neurovascular Practice, where Dr. Li-Mei Lin, director of Cerebrovascular and Neuroendovascular Research and the neurovascular team, will share their expertise, discuss major cerebrovascular diseases, list the spectrum of treatment options for cerebrovascular disease and identify the neurovascular process for patient management. This engaging three-day course will encompass lectures, hands-on activities and case observation.

Topics Include: 
• Cerebrovascular anatomy and diseases 
• Intracranial aneurysm 
• Ischemic stroke, carotid stenting and atherosclerotic disease 
• Arteriovenous malformations 

Learning Objectives: 
• Describe the major cerebrovascular diseases 
• List the spectrum of treatment options for cerebrovascular diseases 
• Identify the neurovascular process for patient management 

Purpose: 
The purpose of this activity is to provide expert training to participants, colleagues, other professionals who are new to the neurovascular space or interested in learning about the newest techniques and treatments for neurovascular diseases. The course will be presented by practicing experts and based upon the latest technology in evidence-based medicine. In addition to a wide-ranging number of medical topics, the activity will explore the newest treatment options available for cerebrovascular diseases, changing healthcare practices and learning the processes for managing patients with cerebrovascular diseases. At the end of the activity, it is expected that the participants will be able to list symptoms and presentation of main cerebrovascular diseases, list various up-to-date treatment options for patients with cerebrovascular diseases and identify and utilize various processes for the management of patients with cerebrovascular disease. 

Target Audience : 
This activity was developed primarily for participants who are new to the neurovascular space or interested in learning about the newest techniques and treatments for neurovascular diseases. Some participants may not be MD’s, so they would not be authorized to utilize some of these technologies or perform surgeries/ procedures described. 

Activity Objectives : 
At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be able to: 
• Describe the major cerebrovascular diseases 
• List the spectrum of treatment options for cerebrovascular diseases 
• Identify the neurovascular processes for patient management
